Troubleshooting iPhone to Apple Watch Connection Issues
We rely on your iPhone and Apple Watch being able to talk to each other in order to control recording on your Apple Watch via your iPhone, and for the data to be sent over and saved in your Logbook when you finish for the day.
If you're consistently having issues, there is some troubleshooting that you can try to improve things.
- Try restarting both devices (iPhone and Apple Watch) to refresh their connection
- Check that both Bluetooth and network connections are enabled:
- On iPhone, swipe down from the top of the screen to check this in the control center
- On Apple Watch, go to the Settings app
- Reset network settings via the Settings app on the iPhone → General → Reset → Reset Network Settings. Note that this option will erase saved WiFi networks.
⚠️ NUCLEAR OPTION⚠️ If absolutely nothing helps, Apple's standard advice is to unpair and repair your devices. We would only suggest doing this as an absolute last resort, and if you choose to do this, we would recommend taking very special care to make sure that you have backed up your Apple Watch first.
