Getting started with Slopes

Hey there, welcome to your new favorite app!

Getting Set Up

When you first download Slopes, you'll be guided through some initial onboarding steps to help you get the most out of Slopes from the very first day.

This includes:

If you've got an Apple Watch and want to use it with Slopes, we'd suggest heading over to our Apple Watch help section for tips on how to start using the Watch app.

Recording

Recording your days is simple. When you're ready to record your first day, tap on the  Record tab and select the resort you're at. Slopes will also remember the resorts you visit and auto-select them in the future.

Slopes needs a good GPS fix to record, so make sure that you don't see a "Weak GPS" message before you start. If you're having trouble with your GPS connection, check out our GPS Tips for some troubleshooting. Once you've got a strong GPS connection, all you need to do is hit Go! and put your phone away. If you need to take a break during the day but don't want to mess up your stats, jump back on to the recording screen and hit Pause.

While recording you can view your Run-by-Run stats in real-time as you go - just tap on the bottom of the recording screen to expand the view. From here you can enable Location Sharing, and if your friends have also enabled location sharing, see who's nearby.

When you're done for the day hit Pause, then Finish. Fill in any details you want such as photos and notes with memories of the day and hit save. To view your recordings later, head over to the Logbook. The details and stats from your day will appear here, and this is where you can play around with the maps, make any edits you need to, use the timeline editor if you drove away before ending your recording (it happens!) and see how you compare against any friends you rode with.
