Smart Reminders not working on Apple Watch
If you're not getting reminders, there's a couple of things that could be causing issues.
1.) Background refresh must be enabled for Slopes for Smart Reminders to work. When you get to a resort these reminders all get set up for 3 days (recording at the resort resets the 3-day timer). After 3 days of no new recordings, Slopes assumes you left and gets launched in the background to clean up and re-enable the welcome reminders.
To enable background refresh for Slopes on Apple Watch:
- Open the Settings app on your Apple Watch
- Tap on General → Background App Refresh
- Make sure that Slopes is toggled on in the list
2.) A common issue is that people have notifications turned off for Slopes on their iPhone, and this is set to mirror their Apple Watch.
If you don't want to get notifications from Slopes on your phone, you can change the settings to "Custom" for Slopes in the Apple Watch app so the notifications come through to the Apple Watch.
Here's how:
- Open the Apple Watch app
- Tap on Notifications
- Scroll down and tap on Slopes
- Tap on Custom and set your preferences
