Garmin FAQs
What Garmin devices work with Slopes?
You will need to use a Garmin device that has the dedicated activity profile for skiing/snowboarding. If you're not sure if your watch has this functionality, you can check on their website.
On the website you find your device → Specs → scroll down to "Outdoor Recreation". If you can use it for skiing/snowboarding, these activities will be listed in "Available Outdoor Recreation Profiles". Alternatively you can look up your device's details via their support center.
Can I record with both Slopes and my Garmin at the same time?
The integration wasn't set up with the intention that people would do this so we'd recommend just recording with one or the other. Other than doubled runs, you could be affected by other problems.
How long after I end my recording on Garmin will I see it in Slopes?
As long as both devices are connected to the internet when you finish recording then it should show up pretty quickly.
Will my past recordings be duplicated if I recorded with both Slopes and my Garmin device on those days?
Nope - if there is existing data already in Slopes we won't import the recording from Garmin for that date to avoid duplication.
How long should it take for past data from Garmin Connect to sync to Slopes?
We import your last 5 years of Garmin skiing/snowboarding activities so it can take anything from a few minutes to a couple of hours if you have a lot of recordings.
Will Slopes send activities imported from Garmin anywhere else for me?
No. If you'd like your recordings to also go to another third-party app then you'd have to enable their respective integrations with Garmin.
Can I use a third-party add-on/plugin if my Garmin device doesn't have the skiing/snowboarding activity profile?
Based on the experiences reported by users, our understanding is that this doesn't always work because they label the activities as "Other" by default, or because the Garmin device doesn't store the "proper elevation information".
Reaching out to the add-on/plugin's developer for support could be worth a shot to see if they have any advice.
