Live Activities
Live Activities allow you to see how your day is going without unlocking your phone.
You'll see them on your phone while recording with the iPhone app, and if you're on iOS 17 or later, while recording with the Apple Watch app too. If you use an iPhone 14 Pro or newer, Slopes will live up in the Dynamic Island.
From your Lock Screen you can see two customizable stats, who else is riding at the resort, and the timeline of your day so far.
Troubleshooting Live Activities
How to Enable Live Activities
To set your preferred two stats, take the following steps:
- Head over to the Account tab
- Under the Settings section, tap on General
- Tap on Live Activity
- Pick something for Stat #1 and Stat #2
- Tap on Back in the top left hand corner to exit and save
If you start recording on Apple Watch via the iPhone app, Live Activities should work immediately. However, if you start a recording directly from the Watch app, you'll need to open the iPhone app while recording to get them to show up. This is because the app needs to be in the foreground to be able to start a Live Activity. After launching the app once, Slopes can go back to recording in the background, and the Live Activity will continue to update throughout the day.
Troubleshooting Live Activities
If Live Activities aren't working, there's a few things to check that should get stuff sorted. If you're still having trouble after running through the below troubleshooting steps, please tap here to send us a help request.
1.) Make sure Background Refresh is on
Live Activities need background refresh to work. You can make sure that Slopes has background refresh enabled by taking these steps:
- Open the Settings app
- Tap on General
- Tap on Background App Refresh
- Make sure Slopes is toggled on
2.) Check your device's iOS version
Your iPhone needs to be running iOS 16.1 or higher for the Live Activities feature. Here's how to check what version of iOS your device is on:
- Open the Settings app
- Tap on General
- Tap on Software Update
- You'll see on the next screen what version of iOS your iPhone is on, and if an update is available.
3.) Turn it off and on again
Often restarting your phone will get things working. As a last resort, you could also try deleting the app from your phone and resinstalling fresh from the App Store.
