Migrate from Google Fit to Health Connect
Google has removed API access for Google Fit and is deprecating the Google Fit APIs, so Slopes must move to Health Connect to keep reading fitness data like heart rate and calories. Health Connect is Android’s new on‑device hub for securely sharing health data between apps, and Google recommends migrating now to avoid interruptions.
What to do
- To continue using fitness features (heart rate, active energy/calories, workouts), switch your integration from Google Fit to Health Connect.
- Open the app and go to: Account → Integrations → “Google Fit: Needs Migration,” then follow the prompts to enable Health Connect permissions for the app.
If Health Connect isn’t set up yet
- Install or enable Health Connect:
- On newer Android versions (Android 14+), Health Connect is built into system settings; search “Health Connect” in Settings.
- Otherwise, install “Health Connect” from the Play Store.
- Open Health Connect and complete the initial setup, then grant the app permission to read/write relevant data types (heart rate, exercise, calories).
Tips if data doesn’t appear after migration
- Open Google Fit and enable “Sync Fit with Health Connect” so Fit can read from the new hub if needed for your dashboards.
- Reopen the app after granting permissions and allow a few minutes for the first sync.
- Make sure only one Google account is active in Play Services if seeing unexpected data gaps.
- Check Health Connect → App permissions to confirm access is allowed for Slopes.
